Nestlé Japan recognised for innovative Kit Kat series
Nestlé Japan’s 'Made in Japan’ team has been recognised with an accolade for developing a diverse range of innovative flavours.
The team has claimed its 2017 AdAge Creativity 50 award for its range of confectionery that has stood out within the market, and ensured its status as a market leader.
With flavours like Matcha and Sake, KitKat not only appeals to domestic buyers but also to tourists visiting the country.
According to the company, KitKat has proved popular for gifting in Japan because it is considered a good luck charm, for instance for students sitting exams.
Its products have long been sold under the 'I know my wish will come true' slogan. Nestlé Japan has met consumer demand with new and interesting flavours, as well as special products.
Premiumisation has also led to increased popularity and sales, with the 'KitKat Chocolatory' boutiques offering premium products created under the supervision of famous Patissier Yasumasa Takagi. In addition, this October, a Japanese KitKat specialty store was opened in Seoul, Korea.
