Lees launches new pastel-coloured Macaringues with unicorn tribute
Lees of Scotland has celebrated the release of its pastel-coloured Macaringues by paying tribute to Scotland’s national animal, the unicorn.
At an event at Kelvingrove Park, Lees surprised locals by bringing along the mythical creature in order to introduce the brand’s new product on National Unicorn Day.
Commissioned from Silver Linings Millinery, the Macaringues, which comes in three colours, pink, lilac, and green, took centre stage alongside Shimmer, the unicorn.
The newly designed treat also has an almond-flavoured meringue shell.
Commenting on the new product, Sheevaun Thomas NPD Manager at Lees of Scotland said: “We’ve seen so many people using our Macaringues in unicorn inspired recipes, so what better way to celebrate Scotland’s national animal on its very own day.
“Our inspiration for the Macaringues has come from the macarons which Paris is famous for but with a little Scottish twist: they are completely different to anything we have previously developed before here at Lees.
“We’ve worked hard to develop the recipe, and have created a really versatile product that can be used for all occasions.”
Lees Macaringues are both gluten and nut free, and are sold in retail packs of 30.
