ProSweets Coverage – Flex roller former for multilayer bars
Kennedy's continues its countdown to ProSweets with an in-depth look at what Bosch Packaging Technology has in store...
A leading supplier of processing and packaging solutions, Bosch Packaging Technology will be at ProSweets to launch its upgraded WRF 600 Flex roller former for multilayer bars.
This latest solution from Bosch – which will be on display at the company’s stand – enables customers to produce multilayer bars, such as those consisting of nougat topped with a layer of caramel, on the same production process. Thanks to its patented flexible working width, it is designed to minimise or eliminate the trim when processing masses for cereal, candy, protein and fruit bars. Bosch’s WRF 600 Flex enables width changes without production stoppages, maximising uptime and output.
The WRF 600 Flex features a smooth slab former with a flexible working width that allows for easy, step-less and tool-free adjustments for the precise cutting of multilayer bar products in different sizes. As a result, less product mass is wasted, helping to decrease production costs and contributing to a higher return on investment. To accommodate slabs of different widths, operators simply make a manual adjustment to the machine during production – completely eliminating downtime. Removing the need for machine stoppages also reduces waste, maximising product usage and enhancing productivity. The WRF 600 Flex gently forms the mass slab without applying any pressure, preventing product breakage. The working width ranges between 400 and 1500 millimeters. As a standard feature, the slab thickness can be continuously adjusted between 5 and 30 millimeters.
With its hygienic design, the WRF 600 Flex allows manufacturers to meet the most stringent hygiene requirements and offers access from all sides, resulting in easy and tool-less cleaning. “Today’s manufacturers need technologies that can efficiently handle delicate products and decrease waste more than ever,” says Frank Jansen, product manager at Bosch Packaging Technology. “The WRF 600 Flex is well positioned to meet these demands thanks to its flexibility and operator-friendly features.”
In addition to its bar processing technology, Bosch also provides primary and secondary packaging solutions for bars. Designed for simple integration with existing Bosch technology, manufacturers are able to partner with a single-source solution provider for their entire bar production line. Standardised interfaces allow for the balanced speed of all line components to eliminate bottlenecks, minimise downtime and optimise production flow, facilitating high Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE).
For its customers, Bosch is also offering a Confectionery Service App for smartphones, tablets and PCs as part of an enhanced service package.
