Mars and Wrigley join forces in Canada
Mars Chocolate and Wrigley Canada are now officially operating as one business, known as Mars Wrigley Confectionery, part of Mars Canada Inc., the legal parent company for Mars segments in Canada.
This newly created business segment is part of Mars, incorporated, one of the world's largest privately owned, family companies.
A manufacturer of chocolate, chewing gum, mints and fruity confections in Canada, Mars Wrigley Confectionery includes brands such as M&M's, Skittles, Excel, Snickers, Twix, Starburst and Juicy Fruit.
Part of the Mars Wrigley Confectionery business is the newly renovated manufacturing facility in Newmarket, Ontario. The facility is the first in North America to produce Maltesers, and it is also leading the way in peanut-free manufacturing, the company states.
"This is a symbolic start to 2018," says Jeremy Daveau, Canadian General Manager of Mars Wrigley Confectionery. "The Mars Wrigley Confectionery segment combines the successful century-long heritages of Mars Chocolate and Wrigley, with a future focused on driving growth and reaching our highest potential. Together, we will help deliver category leadership to our customers and beloved brands to our consumers."
