New continuous production line for Montezuma’s
Montezuma's has made a £500,000 investment in a new continuous production line with a 90-metre spiral cooling tunnel to more than double production capacity.
The decision to install the new machinery is a direct result of the increased demand the company has experienced following extended contracts with customers including Sainsbury's and Trader Joe's.
The new machinery, which the company will use to produce its award-winning bars and truffles, was installed in the company's Birdham factory earlier this month. As well as incorporating more sophisticated cooling technology, the line provides a third larger multi-head depositor, warming sectors and high frequency vibration, speeding up production without compromising quality or consistency.
Simon Pattinson, co-founder of Montezuma's explains: "The decision to install the new line has resulted in a significant investment, but we are committed to ensuring that the latest technology can help us make better products and more of them. The team is very excited about this new, highly complex machinery which will bring big challenges and set new standards, allowing us to increase from around 350 tonnes to 800 tonnes per year."
